Clarifying Dental Insurance Policies

When most people look at a dental insurance policy they see a bunch of financial jargon that doesn’t seem to make a whole lot of sense. Our dental team takes the time to carefully examine your individual policy to help you understand coverage for every treatment. We work with dental insurance regularly, so we can comprehend all the jargon that, understandably, sounds like nonsense to most people. You can rely on our trustworthy team to carefully explain the costs of every treatment, how your insurance plan will cover these costs, and what your out of pocket treatment costs will be. We can also help you understand and plan for policy limitations like annual coverage maximums.

Maximizing Your Benefits

Many patients are surprised to hear that the easiest way to maximize their insurance benefits is to visit us more often. In fact, six month dental checkups typically receive the highest percentage of coverage from benefit plans, and they significantly diminish your risk for advanced oral health concerns. That means, you are less likely to need advanced dental treatments that receive lower percentages of insurance coverage.

Advantages of In-Network Care

In-network dentists have agreed to your insurer’s set pricing for dental treatments. That means your insurer will pay a percentage of this cost and you’re only responsible for the out of pocket treatment costs. Out of network dentists may charge higher fees for your dental treatments, but you’ll need to pay the difference in price as well as your out of pocket percentage. Though the difference in pricing is typically minimal, patients can ensure minimal out of pocket costs by visiting an in-network dentist.

Financing Options

In addition to maximizing dental insurance coverage to offset the costs of treatment, we are also happy to provide third party financing to offer low and no interest payment plans for qualified patients. We frequently work with CareCredit and Wells Fargo to provide these payment plans for our patients. If you don’t have dental insurance coverage, we also offer an in-office dental savings plan called Smile Advantage to provide complete preventive care and discounts for restorative and cosmetic dentistry services.
