Dental Insurance Policies

Laughing woman with beautiful smile There are two main types of dental insurance policies, health maintenance organizations (HMO) and preferred provider organizations (PPO). Both types of plans cover a portion of the cost of necessary dentistry services up to an annual plan maximum that is usually between $1000 and $1500. In return, you pay a monthly premium. HMOs place restrictions on what dental services you can receive and what dentists you can visit. We are not currently in-network with any HMO plans, but we are happy to process and file dental insurance claims for PPO benefit providers. Our team works with these providers on a regular basis, so we can keep your out of pocket costs to a minimum.

Covered Services

  • Preventive care – 80 to 100% coverage for dental checkups, teeth cleanings, and other services to protect your smile
  • Restorative dentistry – 50 to 80% coverage for fillings, crowns, bridges, and other conservative dental care
  • Orthodontics – when elected, 20 to 70% coverage is usually available for both traditional bracket and wire braces and more cosmetic solutions like alignment tray orthodontics
  • Miscellaneous services – can receive 10 to 50% coverage in some cases for other dental treatments like sedation dentistry, sportsguards, and oral appliances

When you visit an in-network dentist with your PPO plan, you know you’ll have the lowest out of pocket treatment costs because in-network dentists agree to charge prices deemed fair by your insurer. Out of network dentists may charge higher fees, but you’ll need to pay the difference in price as well as the out of pocket percentage of the cost of treatment. Our office will process and file dental insurance claims for the majority of plans, and we offer in-network coverage for all of the following plans:
